In Every Dream Home ...

The Author are Christian Silver (guitar and vocals), James Dolan (guitar and vocals), Justin Vooles (drums), Jonny Knight (bass) and Sam Falle (synths and samples).

The Author came from the middle of nowhere to the heart of an island in the midst of a remarkable musical renaissance. Controversial, edgy, glamorous, futuristic … The Author make some of the best music you’ve ever heard. Steve Lamacq, Zane Lowe, Huw Stephens, Annie Mac and Jonathan Ross of BBC Radio 1 all agree.

A tour to promote their new single release of Household Appliance begins in April with this performance at Live Lounge, and takes in Brighton, Northampton, and London. CD copies of the single will be on sale at the show, and the importance of this release should be clear to all fans of new music. They will be megastars soon, and we’ll be amazed and chuffed to bits that they played in our little club.

Marvel are Nick Baxter, Sam A. M. Falle, Todd MacDonald and Dominic Quaeck.

Marvel are one of the most exciting bands ever to come out of Jersey. They have played twice at Jersey Live, and their compulsively catchy, awesomely energetic electro-rock is the sound of British music in the 21st century that could conquer the world.

Currently based in UK, they are returning to Jersey for this appearance at Live Lounge, and a gig with Positiv+, before embarking on a round of shows in London. In the not too distant future it will be seem completely obvious that bands from Jersey could rise to prominence among their greatest peers in the rest of the country, and Marvel will be way out front of the pack.

Brave Yesterday are Alex Pitt (bass and vocals), Chris Nutter (vocals, guitar and percussion), Craig Farrell (guitar and vocals) and Shaun Jacob (drums and percussion).

They are local heroes, no less, and are due to compete in the Jersey Live Battle of The Bands. Their place on stage among the great acts at this year’s festival seems assured. Their music is epic and passionate, and on stage they are an utterly focused team capable of getting everyone in the room bouncing to their undeniably brilliant dance-pop anthems.

This show, which starts and ends earlier than our usual events due to a public holiday on the following day, is preceded by a All-Ages event featuring the same bands with special guest Frankie Davies.

Fear - Poster designed by Thomas Moyse

The second Asylum show at Live Lounge features wild art rock, electro-fusion, dangerous pop glamour, classic songwriting and delirious performances. The Author are Christian Silver (guitar and vocals), James Dolan (guitar and vocals), Justin Vooles (drums), Jonny Knight (bass) and Sam Falle (synths and samples).

In just a short timeĀ  The Author have climbed the slippery media ladder to a position in which none other than Steve Lamacq of BBC Radio 1 is hailing them as one of the most exciting new bands in the country. With their songs played on that national station, and their music available from iTunes, HMV, Napster and other outlets, they have apparently mastered the trick that eludes all but the most ambitious musicians – that of attaining widespread media coverage. Their music is some of the most audacious, danceable, intelligently composed, and exciting material ever to be produced in Jersey or anywhere else. Video footage from the event is to be used for The Author’s promo for the single Household Appliance.

BlackStats are a band who appeared to rapturous reception at the 2008 Jersey Live festival. Their brand of raucous, electrifying rock ‘n’ roll is played with impressive discipline. With their songwriting they are mining a vein of gold; it is classic, timeless stuff with a dark edge. They are Nick Caunce (guitar and vocals), Paul Vibert (guitar and vocals), Stuart Rowsell (bass) and Leon Bouhaire (drums).

Dirtytrades have been on the local scene for less than a year but they’ve made a very big impression. With super-catchy and eloquent stories-in-song in the tradition of classic British pop, they have demonstrated an energetic and passionate approach to live performance that will serve them well wherever they take their debauched and charming show. Dirtytrades are Craig Smith (drums), Tyron Chapman (rhythm guitar and vocal), Joe Rogerson (lead guitar and vocal) and Jamie Hurley (bass).
